Origami Ornaments for Samodi Wedding Centerpiece

I've been working on origami ornaments for Samson and Jodi's wedding.
There is no particular theme for their wedding, but they are Chinese American, have been living in China for the last 4 years, and got to know each other over several Chinese holidays, as well as flying kits in the park.  They will also eventually move back to China.  So paper kits and lanterns seemed appropriate as they are going to be soaring high as a newly weds.

One thing that is special about this couple is that they met in Thailand (the land of smiles), and they both have been immersed into several different cultures such as:  Hawaiian, Japanese, Mexican, Texan, Californian, The South, Thai, and of course Chinese.  Within all these cultures the use of color, paper, print, and quality time have shaped much of their character.

Their wedding colors are grey, pink, and purples.  But I figured, that splashes of other colors wouldn't hurt.  Here is just a sneak peak of what is to come.

100 paper Kites
Close Up
Purple Lanterns (Jodi likes purple)
Jodi likes clear, her favorite, but clear would have been much harder and less lively form what she shared with me.  In a special way, she makes me realize that clear is a color. But as we talked and exchanged ideas.  She shared that she wanted simple, splashes of color, fun, and classy.  Samson specifically likes pastel pink, agrees with Jodi.  Something fun, and elegant at the same time.  So in combination, grey is both of their favorite color.  In combination with purple, pink, and grey;  its brought theses characteristics to their wedding; cute classy elegant.

Yellows and Green Lanterns, fresh
Orange Lanterns , fun in the sun
Red Lanterns, lucky love
Blues Lanterns, cool spirit
